A funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2008, in Macy & Son Funeral Directors in McMinnville for Russell "Russ" Christensen of McMinnville, who died Aug. 6 of a heart attack at age 56.

Russell Christensen was born May 13, 1952, in Pocatello, Idaho, and raised in Twin Falls. He worked for Les Schwab Tires for 35 years, retiring as manager of the McMinnville store. He was a member of the Yamhill County Fair Board and the McMinnville Chamber of Commerce. In 1971, he married Kathryn Ivey.

Survivors include his wife; sons, Russell R. and Joseph; sisters, Carol Taylor and Gloria Paul; and eight grandchildren.

Louis Fulgaro, 75, of Salem, died unexpectedly on Friday, July 18, 2008, at his home in Salem.

He was born in Chicago, Ill., July 25, 1932, to Michael and Mary Rosselli Fulgaro. He attended parochial schools and graduated from St. Philip's High School. He received a bachelor's degree from the University of Miami. He served in the U.S. Army and was a Korean War veteran. While teaching at Austin High School in Chicago, he earned a master's degree in industrial arts.

In 1972, Louis and his family moved to Salem. He was a shop teacher at MacLaren Youth Correctional Facility for about 18 years. He retired from teaching in 1993. He was a parishioner at Queen of Peace Catholic Church where he was active in the food share and Knights of Columbus ministries.

In addition to his wife, Rosemary Esposito Fulgaro, Louis is survived by his sister, Mary Phyllis Paulo of Chicago; his children and their spouses, Michael and Lisa Fulgaro, Tony and Patti Fulgaro and Christina Fulgaro and Jon Crumlish. His grandchildren are Cecelia and Babette Crumlish and Nicholas Fulgaro. Also surviving Louis are his aunt Lucille Virgilio, two nieces, two nephews, and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Sammy.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, July 25 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church (corner of Lone Oak and Friendship).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Salem Public Library Foundation in the name of Louis M. Fulgaro.

SALEM - Dennis James Tollenaar was welcomed into God's presence on May 14, 2008, surrounded by his wife, Nancy, family, and friends. Dennis was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa. He received his Bachelors degree from Corban College (formerly Western Baptist College) and went on to receive a teaching certificate and school administrative certificate. He received his Masters Degree from Western Oregon University. Dennis was a middle school teacher with Salem-Keizer schools for many years before becoming a school administrator. His last position before retirement was as Principal of Lord High School in Woodburn. Dennis' children include Anna, Jon (and Krista), Molly, Lisa (and Bill). Dennis was blessed with two grandchildren, Kaily and Kaiden Tollenaar. Dennis is also survived by his mother Maryllin Tollenaar and sister, Diana Ober, both of Des Moines, Iowa. A memorial service to honor Dennis' life will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, May 16 at The Psalm Center, Corban College, 5000 Deer Park Dr. SE, Salem. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Corban Alumni Scholarship Fund at Corban College.
